Christmas

Here are some of my favorite pictures from Christmas morning.

The kids didn't get to bed until about 10 on Christmas Eve so they slept until about 7:30. Eliott and I got up at 6:30 and waited for them to wake up so they could come downstairs. Here they are on the top of the stairs in their new jammies!

They have been wanting zhu zhu pets and Riley has pretty much been the ring leader on that one so she was super excited that Santa had left one for each of them!

Lydia was more excited for the bubbles in her stocking!! I love this rag-a-muffin picture of her!

Well and then there was chapstick which is always a huge hit for the girls!

All the kids were having so much fun w/ all the stuff in their stockings that they checked everything out for a good 15 minutes before we reminded them that there were presents under the tree! I love that they are so happy w/ the little things!

This is what happened after Lexi opened the present from Riley (it was a cell phone from the dollar store). Apparently Lexi loved it because she attacked Riley in hugs to thank her. They were rolling around on the floor and it was hilarious!

Seth had a great time too I just didn't snap any pictures of him looking at the camera. But overall we had a great day!

I thought I would start the year out w/ a blog post! Now I am not gonna go all crazy and say I am gonna be a better blogger this year. But secretly I am gonna try!

I need to put Christmas pictures on my computer so I can blog about Christmas. It was a fun day and I love watching te kids get sooo excited!

well that's about it for now. short but sweet.

So let's play catch up...

Thanksgiving was fun! I love a good holiday w/ good food!

We took family pictures. I wasn't really excited about this and even debating doing them but it took about 15 minutes for us to get an excellent picture of each kid and a good family picture. So I was happy we went ahead and did them!

Then last thursday I finally got to have the surgery on my hip that I had been fighting for!! I have had weird hips for a while now but for the last 2 years they have been hurting. I found a dr. that was willing to help me out. The MRI wasn't conclusive w/ a labrum tear but that is what it was looking like. There was also a bump on my bone that could cause the labrum to tear if it hadn't already so he was going to shave that off. The good news is that the labrum was great but there were several bumps all over the top of my femur. So the ball and socket weren't sitting together properly so he had to shave the bumps off and reshape the ball. Sounds creepy but hey if it works then it's okay! And he said he was confident that it would relieve my pain.

It was kind of a long surgery. It took about 4.5 hours and an hourish of that was spent manipulating my body into a position so they could get into the joint. man was my body sore after all that! Luckily I was out for that part.

The recovery is no walking on that leg for 3 weeks. Which made it difficult for the first couple days because they must have pinched a nerve and I couldn't feel my good leg at all!! It was a bit difficult trying to get to the bathroom!! Eliott had to wheel me in a computer chair!

But the feeling is back and I can get around on my crutches!

I am lucky to have awesome friends and a fantastic Mother-in-law who have been soooo willing to help w/ food and kids so that I can recover quickly!

So I spend my days hanging out on the couch and watching Monk! It is going to feel great to be able to take care of my family and do things soon!

And Seth had his piano recital last night and did a great job!

weekend update

Friday - was a poopy day. I can't even tell you why, it just was. So I talked my fab sis in law in coming to the valley early and we went to dinner and a bit of shopping. First time at cheesecake factory which was good and yummy!

Saturday - would have been great if I had actually watched General Conference. As it was I knew we wouldn't be able to see all of the sessions uninterrupted so we had it on but were recording it and Eliott and I plan on watching it this week. So I made yummy frozen cookie dough balls dipped in chocolate. Seriously they are as good as they sound! I will post a picture of them and the recipe soon. I went to kohls to use my $10 off coupons and my 30% off coupons and got some christmas gifts for the kids which makes me almost done w/ their stuff! Whoo hooo! and I got a cute shirt and a pair of shoes and all of that for about $30 w/ my awesome coupons!! Then we went to a friends house to eat yummy food and attempt to watch conference.

Sunday - should have consisted of more conference but the youth in the ward were assigned to go visit Randolph. So up at 6 and outta here by 7. I have to admit I had kind of a bad attitude about it due to missing General Conference but I was trying to change that attitude. I had never been before and wanted to make it a good experience. And it was! it was actually amazing and I am so grateful to have had the chance to go. Next would come where I ran over my Ipod Touch. That was a sad moment. But it is still usable and doesn't look too bad. Then for 2nd session of confernce I slept. It's true I did! I was sooooo exhausted and again I am watching them all this week when the kids go to bed! Then we got to go to a Family Birthday dinner. which is always delightful. and the day ended w/ some craft blog hopping and a good night's sleep!!

And that my friends is pretty much my weekend. Not terribly exciting but that's life!!!

the truth is...

The truth is I don't have any truths for today. cuz the truth is I am having a rough week and seriously missing this lady....

It has been 7 years on Saturday.

Weekend update

Friday- Jammie day, finished yw invitations, end Jammie day when the nurse called to tell me Riley was sick and should come home, load girls into eliott's crap car only to have it die on me 3 times before I made it into the street, best neighbor ever offers to let me borrow her car, get Riley and reinstate jammie day( yes I really put my jammiea back on), costa vida salad, made snickerdoodles and didn't even eat one, then eliott went totals night with his bro and I watched lots of tlc and hgtv

Saturday- slept in a bit, had a lazy day with the fam. , went to hobby lobby with kelli, annoyed the hobby lobby lady w/ my 14 different colors of satin for flowers, had a yummy costa vida salad. made handouts for my lesson, watched movies with eliott

Sunday - church, then meetings, then a twice interrupted nap. surprise cookies dropped off! thanks Carly!! Brinner (breakfast for dinner) then bed for kids and movie for us. Lazy sunday! Love it!

Kind of a boring weekend but sometimes that is nice!!!
